Remaster was done in 2000 supervised by WHV's Michael Thau, with director Richard Donner's involvement. Eight deleted scenes (previously shown as part of TV cuts of the film) were integrated into the film proper.
Later releases would dub this version of the film the "Expanded Edition". The theatrical cut of the film would not release until 2006 on DVD.
Features a heavily remixed Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, which caused controversy with some purists due to its aggressive mixing.
